If you are planning to visit St Lucia, and this is your first visit, after making your decision about accommodations, the next important decision is transfers to where you are staying. There are three main options that include ground transfers, ocean ferry service, and helicopter. Most visitors select ground transfers not knowing the reality of the experience. Based on where you are staying the drive can take over 3 hours due to terrible traffic, one lane, winding roads, and potholes causing a bumpy ride. Many first-time visitors complain about the drive due to motion or car sickness. If you are staying along the coastline, starting at Sugar Beach, consider saving yourself, and anyone travelling with you, from this not so fun experience. Start your vacation By Sea having fun sightseeing in on our new speedboat right to the resort or hotel boat dock. Anywhere above Sugar Beach and Jade Mountain is an added 10-45 minutes based on staying at Grand Sandals, Windjammer, or The Landings. The other transfer services like the ferry and helicopter have major setbacks that you can learn more about at the FAQ section.
The resort or hotel location will determine the pickup time, as most departing flights depart after 1:30 PM. When making a reservation guest will select the resort for pickup resulting in a set time guest(s) must be at the resort boat dock with luggage. If the resort does not have a dock, then guest(s) will be required to set-up ground transfers through the resort or hotel and assure pick-up time will provide enough time for the driver to drop guest(s) off at assigned marina 15 minutes before departure time. By Sea starts at the north end of the island (Sandals Grand) and works south to the fisheries dock near the airport. Guest(s) will be driven 5-7- minutes to the airport terminal with luggage.
